I've always felt this forum was a way to let off some steam for our frustration at the way we have been treated by the d.c. I have always taken anything on here with a grain of salt. Lately though(with the posts about someones wife)it has started to get stupid. There is probably a fine line between insults and slander. When you accuse someone of doing a lousy job, and that is perceived by many to be the case, I don't think they're winning that case. But when you accuse someone of criminal conduct, I think you got a problem. If you insult someone, they won't get a lawyer to sue you, but the threat of union bullshit (blue card boy) is always on everyones mind, so we post anonymously, for fear (whether real or imagined)of retribution. I feel everyone on here is hoping and trying to make a better union for all of us. (I know I am)In the only way we know how. By stirring the pot, asking questions, making jokes, and insulting people who forgot where they came from and think that they are better than the rest of us. Maybe we should pull together and for the sake of the men and the union, be more positive about how we can better this union for the union and the members. And save the schoolyard insults for when it is better. As I said in my other post, if I offened anyone, I meant to. But I am not accusing anyone of anything other than poor job performance and accepting ridiculoulsy high salary for a CARPENTER. Both are totally legal but in my opinion, unacceptable. I like to ask questions, especially about people who I think aren't doing a good job. But don't answer them with stupid accusations or predictions. I sometimes write stuff and after reading it, think better of it, realize I'm really upset and hit the delete button. I also post with the knowledge that someone can probably figure out who I am, (rumors as to who owns this site are rampant) and have not posted anything in good conscience that would be considered illegal or slanderous. (Nasty and perhaps uncalled for, but I'm working on that)I am also responsible for the more humorous posts (parody of dos equus beers,e.g.) So lets use this site for what it was intended. to help make a better union for all of us, even McCarron.
